Hello Bookwyrms!
I have been offline since July last year so I have neglected this group a little, but I am glad to see that everyone's still been submitting art - I am glad we can find books and art a great comfort in these dark times!
Just a quick note about some submissions:
I have not read a lot of the books we have fanart for in this group: I have not read Wings of Fire or Temeraire or Dragonriders of Pern, and therefore I do not know all the characters well. This is a fanart group, so fan-characters are to be expected. In the past there has been talk of getting a separate folder for fan-characters to keep them separate from normal characters, and I was going to put it to a vote, but I have not had time to attend to this group for months. If there is a separate folder for fan characters, I have very little knowledge of which characters are part of the canonical stories and which ones are invented by fans.
So at present, fan characters go in the same folder as regular characters.
But there is also a rise in art of characters which are not fan-characters, or perhaps they are from an AU or a non-canon species or whatever so without context the art is not recognisable as fanart. There are groups for Wings of Fire fan species which may be better homes for this art.
On top of this, there are some characters which are fully original, and not fanart, which have been submitted. While all dragons are good, this is a group for Fan Art not Original Art, so please submit these elsewhere.
Finally, there are adoptable sales which use Group for Bookwyrms as a place of operations: there are a lot of dragon-centric groups and adoptable groups out there, if your dragons are not 'fan art of dragons from books' please do not submit the adoptable sale sheets here.
This is a focussed group with a narrow scope: fan art of dragons from books. The scope is narrow because there are only 2 admins, neither of which are very active, so we aren't making a huge group of 'everything dragon', just 'dragons from books'.
Hope everyone has a good 2021!
